Healthcare decision-making is a complex process. Transparency of the evidence and values underlying healthcare decisions can be achieved through structured approaches relying on international standards and local needs.
EVIDEM is a comprehensive and pragmatic decision-support platform applying principles of MultiCriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). This webinar provides an overview of EVIDEM concept, platform and tools in the context of current challenges in healthcare decisionmaking. EVIDEM was developed to support transparent and efficient decisionmaking through systematic assessment of evidence and values of healthcare interventions.
The presentation will be followed by a hands-on online exercise applying an EVIDEM tool to assess the value of a sample intervention. Three policy and clinical decisionmakers will then discuss their perspectives on current unmet needs and field experience, focusing on challenges and opportunities of structured approaches such as EVIDEM to promote efficient decisionmaking.
Expected outcomes: Participants will leave this workshop with a basic knowledge of EVIDEM and hands-on experience in its application. Presentations from the field and discussions should stimulate ideas for application of transparent approaches to decision support by participants in their own environments.
