ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
   
Lorraine Soos, Vice President Controller, Maher Terminals

Lorraine Soos is the Vice President Controller of Maher Terminals LLC, a multi-user container terminal operator in the Port of New York. Lorraine has over twenty years experience in the ocean transportation industry, thirteen years with Maher.

Lorraine is responsible for many of the day to day financial responsibilities including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Revenue Accounting and Corporate Procurement. She was the project lead in her company’s implementation of Coda Financials.

Lorraine began her career as an auditor for a major CPA firm. Her clientele base included manufacturing concerns, non-profit organizations and commodity industry. In 1983, she joined a Steamship Agency as their Accounting Manager, later becoming their Controller responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting process.

Lorraine obtained a B.S in Accounting, cum laude from C. W. Post – Long Island University and obtained her CPA license from the State of New York in 1984.

   
 
 
Kevin Roberts, Vice President Business Development, CODA Financials, Inc.

Kevin is responsible for software license sales in the US for both existing customers and new business. He also manages and develops CODA’s partner relationships in the Americas.

Kevin joined CODA UK as a technical consultant in 1995, working on Open Client/Server implementations in the UK, Europe and Middle East. He managed the development of technical training materials, new technical courses and technical events in the CODA Plus implementation methodology. He moved to the US in 1999 when he took on the role of technical services manager looking after the development and delivery of technical implementation and integration services before being promoted to his current role.

Kevin began his career as a software analyst at Hoskyns in the UK, now part of Cap Gemini. He was involved in the specification, design, development and testing of custom built commercial and financial applications. In 1987 he joined Tenhill Computer Systems (now Lynx Financial Systems) as financial applications specialist, later becoming technical services manager responsible for the technical infrastructure required to support major financial organizations in the UK and Europe.

Kevin was awarded a Bsc (hons) degree in management sciences from Warwick University in 1982.
