PCI Data Security Standards Part II: The Future of Payment Card Industry Compliance

- John Kirkwood, Vice President & Global Information Security Officer, Royal Ahold Learn More
- A. N. Ananth, CEO, Prism Microsystems, Inc

Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards is the most successful attempt at industry self-regulation that has been seen to date. With all 5 major credit cards putting aside their competitive differences and working together to create the PCI Security Standards Council, PCI Compliance has taken leaps and bounds towards true self-regulation.

With the recent data breaches at TJX, however, doubt has been cast on PCI Standards and their effectiveness. Can an industry so vulnerable to security attacks truly regulate itself? Or is government intervention necessary? Or perhaps both.

Join John Kirkwood, Global Information Security Officer from Royal Ahold, and A. N. Ananth, CEO, Prism Microsystems, Inc as they discuss the future of PCI.
