Douglas Braund, Manager, Security, FedEx Custom Critical

Douglas Braund is the manager of security for FedEx Custom Critical. He oversees all strategic security initiatives and day-to-day tactical security matters. Braund brings more than 25 years of law enforcement and specialized security experience to FedEx Custom Critical. In his role as manager of security, Braund works to identify and prosecute criminal acts committed against FedEx Custom Critical. He also identifies patterns and trends of cargo theft, while developing security applications to reduce exposure and risk.

As a security specialist for FedEx Freight, Braund was involved in promoting and enforcing workplace violence prevention and education. He investigated and prosecuted any and all criminal acts perpetrated against FedEx such as theft, fraud and any brand protection issues. A member of the FedEx Corporate Security Leadership Team, Braund was also responsible for FedEx Executive protection.

In addition to his service at FedEx, Braund makes contributions to many other organizations. He is a charter member of the American Society for Industrial Security International, and he was named a Certified Cargo Security Professional by the North American Transportation Management Institute. He also serves on a number of councils, including the Ohio Cargo Theft Task Force, Mid-South Cargo Security Council, Virginia Carolinas Cargo Security Council, Southeastern Transportation Security Council, National Cargo Security Council and International Cargo Security Council.

Braund is a graduate of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy located in Columbus, Ohio.

His career has been eclectic with a mix of entrepreneurial, corporate and agency experience. He has worked in advertising with McDonald’s and various other Fortune 100 companies. He owned multiple Play It Again Sports franchises and was the President of 360­­° Sports Marketing until Roush Racing in NASCAR acquired it.
