    Bárbara López Gómez, Investor Services Manager, INVEST IN SPAIN  

    Bárbara López Gómez holds a Biology degree from Complutense University of Madrid and both a Master degree in Management of Biotech Business (International School of Business ALITER, Madrid) and a Master degree in Project Management (La Salle University, Barcelona). Her professional focus is on biotech and life sciences project management, especially in public financing assessment. She has been actively involved in more than 60 public financing projects and served in companies as Oryzon Genomics, Alma Consulting Group and Medina, Terrón & Asociados.

     

    She is currently the Investor Services Manager at Invest in Spain for Biotech, Pharma and Life Sciences Sector.

    Jorge Arenas-Vidal, Director, BIOSERENTIA  

    Jorge is Founder and CEO of BioSerentia, a Business Accelerator for Life Sciences and Biotechnology Ventures and Projects.

     

    Jorge started his professional career in 1991 as a laboratory scientist and project leader in cellular toxicology and then moved to a strategic consulting position in the healthcare practice at Arthur Andersen. Five years later he founded the Biotechnology practice and held different managing positions at Stem SL, Vitalia SL and Blueline SL (lately merged) establishing new products and clients in the fields of healthcare, pharma and biotechnology, prior to founding BioSerentia as a business accelerator for life sciences ventures. He has represented Spain in the European Commission Group of Life Sciences Strategy for Competitiveness. He also serves in the Boards of Angiotheron Pharmaceuticals, SL and Pharmaceutical Management, SL. As a scientist, consultant, manager and entrepreneur, he has been working for governments, universities, research centers, entrepreneurs and investors for 15 years in Spain, the EU and the US.

     

    Jorge holds a PhD in Cellular Toxicology (magna cum laude) from the University of Navarra, and a Master in Bioscience Enterprise from Cambridge University & MIT. Distinguished by the Cambridge Entrepreneurship Centre (CEC) at Cambridge University.

    José Navas, Director, CARLOS III Health Institute  

    Born on January 10, 1948 in Melilla, he holds a doctor of medicine degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1981), having completed his residency in pathological anatomy at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation and Northwestern University’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago (1971-1976).

    In the course of his teaching career, he has held the posts of professor of pathological anatomy at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1976-1984), professor of pathological anatomy at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (1984-2008) and chair of the Board of Professors for the Inter-university Master’s in Science Leadership and Management (UAB-UB-PCB) (2007-2008).

    As part of his medical work, he has managed the Pathological Anatomy Section at 12 de Octubre Hospital and the Pathological Anatomy Department at Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTP in its Catalan acronym). As the person responsible for management, he has held the position of medical manager and (1985-1987) manager (1988-1997) at the HUGTP and director of the Hospital Division at the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS in its Catalan acronym) (1998-2002).

    In the area of research, he was involved in setting up the HUGTP’s Research Foundation (1995), He has been scientific director for the group ICS (2003-2004), director of the Science Policy Master Plan (2004-2006) and director of the Health Sciences Research and Innovation Program (2007-2008) for the Catalan Department of Health.

    Eduardo Bravo, CEO, CELLERIX  

    Eduardo has more than 18 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. His professional career includes several senior management positions at Sanofi-Aventis, including Vice President for Latin America, where he was in charge of more than 2000 employees and oversaw sales of more than €1 billion. At Sanofi-Aventis he also held positions such as Marketing and Sales Manager for Europe and General Manager for Belgium. He also worked for 7 years in SmithKline Beecham in sales positions both nationally and internationally. Eduardo holds a degree in Business Administration and an MBA (INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France). In addition, Eduardo Bravo is a member of the Board of Directors of Cellerix.

    Enrique Vázquez Tatay, CEO, NEOCODEX  

     

    Enrique Vázquez Tatay, PhD, MBA cofounder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NeoCodex. PhD in Pharmacy, in molecular and cellular biology, Dr. Vázquez completed his scientific formation with master degrees in economic and business management.

     

    Previously serving as Sales Director for Biomedal Inc., and as the Regional Director for Organon Española, Dr. Vázquez brings to NeoCodex a background of diverse cross-industrial experience. As a contributing author to many scientific books and publications, Dr. Vázquez also remains involved throughout the scientific community by teaching courses at the university, delivering lectures at countless conferences and seminars each year.

     

    Dr. Vázquez has provided the direction and leadership required for the continued growth and success of NeoCodex.
