  • Supporting Portable Medical and Instrumentation Design with the World’s Lowest Power Microcontroller

As portability becomes a growing trend in medical products, manufacturers are seeking technologies that reduce the design complexity and time to develop the end product. In most of these medical applications, the actual physiological signals are analog and require signal conditioning techniques, such as amplification and filtering, before they can be measured, monitored, or displayed. The MSP430 microcontroller MCU offers a platform of ultra-low-power processors with the high integration of the complete signal chain that is required for applications such as blood glucose meters, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and heart rate monitors.

This webinar will focus on TI’s MSP430’s diverse portfolio of 16-bit ultra-low-power microcontrollers that enable a wide variety of portable medical applications. Scaling from our general purpose 2xx devices, all the way up to our highly-integrated 4xx and 5xx generations, MSP430 provides various integrated peripherals, ultra-low-power performance, and the support for serial, RF, and USB communication.

In addition to the broad MSP430 portfolio, this webinar will also walk through the resources that are made available to medical developers to help create differentiated products and accelerate their time to market. Stacks for USB and RF are available, as well as code examples, application notes, and technical documents. The MSP430 is also supported by a large third party developer network and is an active member of the Continua Health Alliance.

Join us as we explore the MSP430 portfolio and what it can enable in your next portable medical application.
