BioCryst Pharmaceuticals discovers novel, oral, small-molecule medicines that treat rare diseases in which significant unmet medical needs exist and an enzyme plays a key role in the biological pathway of the disease. Oral, once-daily ORLADEYO™ (berotralstat) is approved in the United States for the prevention of HAE attacks in adults and pediatric patients 12 years and older, and under regulatory review for approval in Japan and the European Union. BioCryst has several ongoing development programs including, an oral Factor D inhibitor for the treatment of complement-mediated diseases, galidesivir, a potential treatment for COVID-19, Marburg virus disease and Yellow Fever, and BCX9250, an ALK-2 inhibitor for the treatment of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. RAPIVAB® (peramivir injection), a viral neuraminidase inhibitor for the treatment of influenza, is BioCryst’s first approved product and has received regulatory approval in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Director, European Commercial Operations will be responsible for supporting the commercial operations for BioCryst’s launch of the first targeted oral therapy for Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). This individual must have a keen understanding of building and managing EU commercial infrastructure to house data, system needs, commercial data reporting, and awareness of commercial compliance requirements/context of building commercial infrastructure in a rare disease company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• EU-CRM, including initial development, ongoing maintenance, and any future development as needs and requirements change in partnership with headquarters GBAO team
• EU Veeva PromoMats and other related systems required for compliant infrastructure in prioritized EU markets (ongoing maintenance and future specific market needs)
• Ensure successful implementation of EU data assets into CRM implementation in partnership with headquarters GBAO team
• Provide ongoing support for CRM users and develop CRM reporting as needed by Country GMs
• Establish and maintain a data repository for internal and external data, including master data as needed
• Create and maintain sales and CRM activity reporting for field sales force and sales management. Provide ad hoc data extracts of CRM and other data for reporting and analysis projects
• Set up and maintain a data analytics platform supporting multiple needs across commercial organization
• Establish & coordinate data flow between internal sources and external vendors
• Collaborate with sales & marketing functions to help inform alignment/design sales territories and create & maintain compliant target lists
• Ensure compliance with EU GDPR, data privacy, and security regulations
• Partner with finance, supply chain, legal, compliance departments as business dictates
• All other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of commercial experience in biotech/pharma required, 10+ years preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong understanding of EU commercial data operations and sales data analytics infrastructure.
• Creative thinker; self-directed; able to develop a plan, gain alignment, and execute.
• Highly collaborative; flexible and can work easily across functions; comfortable leaning into all aspects of a commercial business and making recommendations to optimize company or team approach.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships.
• Analytical -- uses data to drive strategic decision-making.
• Strong ability to drive execution through an organization.
• Experience with CRM management in EU, and other related commercial systems
• Experience with business analytics tools like PowerBI
• Relevant experience with EU commercial data (distributor data, standard pharmaceutical secondary data, and other sources as needed)
• Relevant experience with rare disease states preferred.
• Ideally Ireland based, other locations may be considered.
