Medical Director, Nordics

As Medical Director for our Nordic organization, you will be in a key, highly visible position within Novocure, responsible for managing all Medical Affairs related activities in the region. You will also be responsible for managing all medical affairs employees, which currently amounts to one medical manager in Sweden, with scope to grow the team over time. Your responsibility will be to expand the understanding of all scientific elements of TTFields to allow healthcare professionals, patients, and payers alike to embrace TTFields as the new standard of care for cancer treatment and a new paradigm in cancer therapy across the Nordics with an initial primary focus on Denmark. Your aim will be to increase therapy awareness amongst Neurosurgeons, Radiation oncologists, Neuro-oncologists, Oncologists, and Patient advocacy groups (together with Novocure's patient advocacy team) and to work towards establishing the value proposition of the TTFields therapy in conjunction with these groups.

Your responsibilities:

• In this position, you will have to act both strategically and hands-on: You will develop, own, and implement the medical strategy for The Nordics in alignment with EMEA and Global Medical strategies to support understanding, adoption, and effective implementation of TTFields treatment by HCP’s.
• You will travel across the Nordic European countries (especially Denmark), developing strong relationships with key opinion leaders in oncology and other strategically important HCP’s
• You will be responsible for internal and external medical education (in alignment with our medical communications team and the regional and global strategy) and with addressing any medical questions in the field.
• You will also own all medical content at congresses in The Nordics, including satellite symposia and other continuing medical education activities.
• Finally, you will support investigator-initiated trial processes and work closely with the EMEA team to ensure consistency across regions.

Your profile:

• You are educated to MD/ PhD degree level from an accredited university.
• You also have experience in or clinical/scientific knowledge of oncology, either in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
• As you will be part of building up the Nordic organization, this role would particularly suit you if you have an entrepreneurial mindset, but also the ability to put an organized structure in place, which aligns with our overall strategy.
• You will assume full responsibility and ownership of your area, significantly influencing and impacting our future plans
• You enjoy working independently and with a high degree of autonomy, but you also appreciate being part of a global team of experts and are able to align local and global priorities well.
• You have strong communication skills, are comfortable presenting and discussing complex data with senior clinicians, and can translate scientific insight into value for your stakeholders, building strong relationships – externally and internally.
• You have a strong command of Danish and English, both in speaking and writing, any additional Nordic languages would be an advantage.
