How you will make an impact:

Projects are heavily weighted towards chemical processes involved in different aspects of filter manufacturing at an R&D/prototype scale to pilot and production scales. A Process Development Engineer will take the lead on parts of a large project or will take ownership of smaller scale projects: from equipment and prototype design of testing of new developed processes for manufacturing. They will be responsible to ensure that their assigned projects be completed on time, with a strong focus on independent work, project management and time management. This role has a heavier mechanical design and materials testing responsibilities. It will involve CAD design work and development of mechanical equipment and devices to process chemicals and plastics. They will contribute to the advancement of research and development project required for membrane and filter manufacture at the prototype, pilot and production scale. All work involved will have a sustained and constant focus on technology transfer of R&D activities to manufacturing. The responsibility of a process development engineer is to assist fellow scientist and senior engineers to elevate research and development projects to a high degree of commercial potential. An aptitude to for constant attention to detail and adequate documentation is necessary. They will work collaboratively, under the supervision of senior team members, and interact with other departments such as the laboratory and engineering departments in order to achieve the objectives of the R&D team.
  • Take ownership of research and development projects in the area of membranes, with the goal of overseeing, innovating and improving R&D processes, pilot equipment operation, and work with other engineers and scientists to scale-up operations.
  • Time management and project management are critical to report progress and accomplish goals on time.
  • Ensure adequate support is offered to scientists to provide them with equipment and processes to ensure manufacturability.
  • Assist with membrane development projects. All work involved will have a sustained and constant focus on the technology transfer of R&D activities to manufacturing.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience you'll need:
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and motivated to learn.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective inter departmental collaborations with Engineering, Machine Shop, Product Management and Lab Services, as well as outside firms.
  • The candidate is strongly encouraged to prepare a presentation and/or bring a portfolio of previous work or projects that demonstrate relevant work experience.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant experience (minimum of 3-5 years' experience) in a related technical field or industry.
  • Hands-on experience in development projects and in fast paced environments, with a proven track record of performance and meeting deadlines and deliverables.

US BASE PAY SCALE $86,000 - $106,000

The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant's experience.
