Job Description

Poseida is searching for an outstanding Research Associate to join our Nanotechnology/Gene Therapy group. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop non-viral delivery tools for in vivo genome editing and gene therapy applications.  This person will be engaged in execution of various assays related to physiochemical characterization of nanoparticles, as well as various assays on biological samples.

Responsibilities

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Independently analyze the physiochemical properties (size, charge, pH, osmolarity, encapsulation, pKa, etc.) of nanoparticle formulations of nucleic acids
  • Work closely with senior technical staff to run HPLC, ELISA, and 96-well plate-based assays for the quantitative analysis of nanoparticle test articles and/or biomarkers
  • Process the raw data in excel, analyze the results, and make reports and power point presentation
  • Maintain scrupulous records documenting analytical chemistry activities and results
  • Work closely with Formulation and Pharmacology teams to coordinate cross-functional activities.
Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BS or MS in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemistry, or pharmacology with 2 plus years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Prior experience with HPLC, LC-ELSD, or LCMS based analysis is required
  • Prior experience in ELISA or other plate-based protein assays is required
  • Prior experience with at least one of the following analytical methods for characterizing nanoparticle formulations is desired: Nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential measurement
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce consistent results and effectively communicate them to the team.
  • Team player and the ability to work on fast-paced multiple projects in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong proficiency at MS Excel is required; prior experience with advanced analytical software (Prism, JMP) is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
