Job Description

This role involves process improvement supporting translational research that will encompass the process from sample collection plan all the way to data delivery and analysis. You will identify issues, develop a plan, and implement solutions to address the speed and quality at numerous stages of this process. Efficiency of the process depends on close collaboration within the department as well as cross functionally and externally. These are a) cross-functional partners: for example, Biosample operations, Biostats and Data Management, IT, b) Within department: for example, Biomarkers, Bioinformatics, Strategy, Research and Pathology, and c) External vendors (for example central labs, testing laboratories).

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing the workstreams and related meetings.
  • Defining deliverables, deliverable schedule, and milestones
  • Proactive identification of risks and mitigation plans
  • Coordination across workstreams at touch points
  • Process development in collaboration with workstream members
  • RACI charts (within the department and across departments)
  • Implementation plan and tracking implementation milestones, Coordinating SOP development
  • Metrics development and tracking mechanism to show improvements
  • Preparing materials for updates and discussion with stake holders especially when investments are needed (Budget preparation and tracking)
  • Stakeholder engagement (within the department and across departments)

Required experience:

  • Work experience in clinical lab science or biomarker/ translational setting supporting clinical trials (GCP)
  • Experience in process design and management in translational and biomarker research setting
  • Experience collaborating with central labs, specialty biomarker labs and pharma partners
  • High quality project management skills (meeting arrangement, minutes, slide prep, action item tracking, etc.)
  • Understanding of exploratory biomarker data, experience in standardization of formats and concepts in data management in clinical trial setting (GCP)
  • M.S., Life Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of industry-relevant project management, laboratory and process improvement experience, or
  • B.S., Life Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of industry-relevant project management, laboratory, and process improvement experience
