Summary:
The Senior Manager, Facilities will be responsible for the full scope of site operations at our headquarters. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, self-directed leader capable of overseeing day-to-day functionality of a multi-use site comprising corporate offices, analytical laboratories, R&D drug product manufacturing, and related spaces. The role encompasses site safety leadership, equipment management, and direct coordination of external contractors including cleaning, maintenance, and specialty service vendors. As the company's sole dedicated facilities resource, this individual will build programs and processes from the ground up, partnering closely with R&D, Quality, and Operations leadership to ensure a safe, compliant, and fully operational environment that supports our clinical-stage pipeline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day site operations, ensuring spaces are safe, functional, and compliant.
- Provide leadership for and continuously improve the company's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) program, serving as Safety Officer and ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulations.
- Develop and deliver site safety training, maintain chemical hygiene and emergency action plans, and oversee hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, including equipment inventory, calibration tracking, and coordination of scheduled service for all lab and manufacturing instrumentation, in accordance with SpyGlass procedures.
- Support equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
- Identify, onboard, and manage external contractors-including cleaning, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and specialty lab service vendors-ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on-site.
- Negotiate scopes of work and service agreements; oversee contractor performance and approve invoices within delegated authority.
- Partner with R&D, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to maintain facilities documentation and support any inspections and partner audits.
- Manage the facilities budget, support capital expenditure planning, and contribute to future site expansion and buildout activities.
- Serve as primary liaison with building management and landlord for facility matters and site improvements.
Qualifications Required For Position:
- Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred; professional certification (e.g., CFM, CHMM) a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive facilities management experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environment, with direct exposure to laboratory and/or GMP manufacturing spaces.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly developing a facilities or EHS function, ideally in a startup or growth-stage company.
- Working knowledge of GMP regulations (21 CFR Parts 210/211), laboratory safety standards (OSHA, Cal/OSHA), chemical hygiene requirements, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Hands-on, self-directed operator comfortable managing vendors and contractors independently, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with equipment tracking systems and standard office productivity tools.
