It is a top priority for food and pharmaceutical companies to ensure their products are safe and free from foreign body contamination such as metal, glass, stone and calcified bone. To do this, most companies invest in inspection equipment such as metal detectors and X-ray inspection machines as part of their quality control process. However, this equipment has been around for a long time and over the years there have been huge technological and engineering advances made in both. With all the progress made, it may be unclear which equipment is best for your operation.

In this webinar, Loma’s North America Technical Director will help you understand the strength and weaknesses of both metal detectors and X-ray systems to help you determine which system will ensure you are protecting your consumers from foreign body contamination.

Key takeaways include:

  • Metal detection and X-ray inspection basics
  • Advantages and disadvantages of each technology
  • Key application specific concerns
  • Case study examples
