Re-envisioning Life Sciences Through the FHIR Gateway

Patient records are currently stored in disparate systems (care, pharmacy, lab) in varied clinical settings (hospital, primary care, community services) and in different formats (data models, structured vs. unstructured data) governed by dissimilar regulatory and privacy policies. This webinar will address how Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) will revolutionize the availability and discovery of all types of electronic health records (EHRs).

The need for structured and standardized data access is paramount. FHIR can easily be integrated into research databases to support collection and verification of clinical study data, automated research workflow, accelerated data analysis, clinical decision support and other machine-based processes. HL7 FHIR continues its strong trajectory of global adoption across the healthcare industry because of its ability to provide an API standards-based window into disparate systems, and a common platform for applications-based data access, sharing and reuse.

Going forward, FHIR will become an integral part of life sciences data exchange, as it is customizable and vendor-neutral, thus paving the way to a revolution in the life sciences industry. With FHIR being accepted and implemented across the healthcare domain, it will overcome a major barrier to security and confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and CCI.

Join this webinar to understand how FHIR is acting as a primary catalyst for health data interoperability and to drive evidence-based insights in life sciences.
