Associate Director, Alliance Management

Job Description
This person will be based out of Princeton, NJ and /or Utrecht, Netherlands will be onsite 60% of the time.
Key responsibilities include
- Oversees the governance of partnership agreements (including supporting joint committees and launch of new partnerships, setting agenda’s and ensure teams are prepared with their deliverables)
- Develops joint alliance vision, goals, and guiding principles (e.g., communication, decision-making, issue resolution)
- Manages long term relationships between Genmab and our global corporate partners by establishing a high level of trust and collaboration. Utilizes tools (i.e. Health Check, onboarding training) to monitor and optimize the collaboration
- Management responsibilities for local Alliance Management staff; may include Associate Director, Sr. Manager, Manager and Coordinator level team members
- Partners closely internal stakeholders and compound development and commercialization teams to ensure appropriate alliance management support for partnered programs on a local and global level
- Hands-on alliance project management on local interactions when applicable
- Monitors all alliance related activities and leads joint teams in resolving issues regarding effective communication, conflict or role clarification, including impasse resolution between partners when necessary
- Drives communication and facilitates decision making for assigned collaborations by capturing local specific needs to be reflected to the best interests for both global & local
- Ensures joint strategy and decisions are implemented in alignment with alliance operating principles and product strategy & key strategic initiatives/tactical plans per local brand plan to obtain alignment from partners
- May facilitate governance activities on only strategic global vendor partnerships
- Completes tracking, communication and management of key milestones, financial transactions and progress reports to assure compliance with stated plans
- Communicates financial deviations and manages change control and decision making associated with any deviations on strategic or operational plans
- Become our internal expert on partner companies by building expertise about partner companies, including company organization/leadership, strategies, financials, priorities, etc.
- Work with Business Development on new product or company evaluations and deal negotiations, including governance structure and partnership launch preparation
- Develop vision and strategy and implement strategic initiatives to enhance our alliance management capability to grow our reputation as a premier alliance partner
- Ensure that alliances are managed consistently, leveraging best practices and standard tools
- Determine key success factors and metrics for measuring alliance health and success
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or related industry. Experience with product commercialization is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree (MBA/PhD) preferred
- Professional certification in alliance management, project management, corporate training, or another relevant discipline preferred
- Prior people management experience is preferred
- Experience working in program or alliance management role within a global organization is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, and resolve conflict
- Ability to create scenarios that address both Genmab and our partners fundamental business objectives as well as key underlying interests
- Demonstrated attention to detail and excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple alliances/projects/priorities
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoints
- This position requires up to 25% travel, meeting with our global partners and Genmab colleagues at the different locations
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$138,750.00---$231,250.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
