Associate Microbiologist (USP)

Job Description
- Performs microbiological testing of raw material, finished product samples and purified water
- Perform and document all test data in accordance with cGMPs and company SOPs.
- Perform plate reading and result calculations for samples analyzed within the laboratory.
- Assist in method suitability testing for new product samples.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of all test methodologies performed in the lab including but not limited to USP <60>, <61>, <62>, and <51>
- Document equipment performance data to ensure compliance with operational specifications.
- Enter data into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample tracking and result reporting.
- Maintain laboratory environment (cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, consumables inventory, media inventory, etc.)
- Plan for the assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.
- Contributes to a cohesive team environment.
- Participates in overtime, weekend, and holiday schedule as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory supervisor/manager as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in life science, or other related degree
- A four year degree can be supplemented with a combination of experience and an Associate’s degree
- Authorization to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to learn new techniques and follow written procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and adjust workload based upon changing priorities
- Ability to be flexible with schedule, and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift approximately 30 lbs.
Preferable skillsets:
- Understanding of good laboratory practices
- Understanding of aseptic technique in a microbiology laboratory.

Position is full time, 5 days – 8 hour shifts (Monday – Friday) Day-Shift
