The project involves the generation of human iPS cell models of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia as part of an NIH contract.  The candidate must have prior experience of CRISPR-Cas editing of human iPS cells.  The candidate will help design reagents for generating mostly single nucleotide variants, plan experiments, perform nucleofections and work with a team of research assistants to identify and archive iPS cell clones with the desired edits.  The candidate will help troubleshoot problems that may arise and test new reagents/editing strategies where appropriate.  The candidate will also be responsible for reporting on progress at weekly meetings with the PI and lab staff and present results at monthly meetings with the NIH program directors.

Responsibilities

•    Lead program goal(s)/project(s) of the sponsoring faculty member.
•    May be lead PI on research grants (e.g., foundations and R01s) for project(s) that comport with the sponsoring faculty member’s program.

Qualifications

•    PhD and Post-doctoral experience in a relevant discipline.
•    1-3 years of postdoctoral experience and an additional 1-2 years’ to complete studies in a sponsoring faculty member’s lab before moving on to an independent/other position.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
