Job Description

The Genmab Director of Facilities position presents a unique opportunity to oversee the management and upkeep of our state of the art facilities located in Denmark. As an integral member of the Global Facilities Leadership Team, you will have a pivotal role in shaping an impactful onsite experience for Genmab employees. You will closely collaborate with Facilities leadership and colleagues to effectively implement facilities management according to our company's strategic objectives.

This position is based in our newly built HQ in Valby, Denmark, and will report to the Vice President of Facility Management and Real Estate in the US.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, lead and develop Facilities team members across sites
  • Implement strategic plans for facility management, including seating capacity and site growth
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the sites and support lab-related activities
  • Partner with colleagues in a highly matrixed environment to ensure alignment
  • Cultivate an agile culture of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

 

Security, Safety and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement safety, security, and emergency response plans and procedures
  • Ensure facilities meet local regulations, including environmental and safety standards.

 

Project Management:

  • Plan and oversee facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and new construction
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

 

Budget Management:

  • Closely manage the facilities budget and control expenditures in alignment with the budget
  • Establish a site-wide goods and services procurement strategy to bring cost value to the organization
  • Ensure optimal vendor relationships with key suppliers and landlord/broker
  • Develop approaches to drive Genmab’s ESG strategies, such as carbon emissions and environmental impact
  • Monitor energy utilization and find opportunities for improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • +10 years of biotech/pharma or related industry facility experience
  • Significant management experience leading diverse teams
  • Excellent communication skills - both English and Danish
  • Strong digital literacy and experience in advanced MS Office functionality is important
  • Highly developed hospitality and service orientation
  • Significant experience in interpreting complex information to influence others in a cross-functional environment
