Job Description
The Director of Strategic Analytics will report to the Chief of Staff and be a part of the team driving Portfolio Management and Strategic Assessments. This high-impact role will be key in spearheading strategic financial assessments toward the development of enterprise strategy, including establishing business cases to support portfolio-decision making and business development. You will lead key Corporate analytical projects and support the CEO and Executive Management in developing, communicating, and translating into action strategic growth objectives. You will be a key player in supporting internal prioritization and resource allocation decisions, using analytical excellence to enable data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
- Support information research and lead robust analytic and business evaluation support of portfolio and business development opportunities, potential company strategies, and key business initiatives
- Support development of Portfolio Strategy and its evolution to maximize patient impact and drive toward corporate growth objectives over different periods of time and timelines
- Develop and maintain portfolio and program valuation financial models and assessments (NPV, ROI) grounded in market analyses, to optimize resource allocation and integrate into strategic planning efforts; support business development in deal model assessments by providing key inputs
- Partner with senior leadership toward making strategic choices by conducting scenario analysis, and evaluating strategic alternatives
- Support financial and strategic assessments and business case development for external opportunities
- Articulate and present financial analyses and presentations to senior management and key internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, Program Teams, and other key groups to solicit inputs toward strategic financial assessments and to socialize learnings
- Support development of material for external stakeholders and communications
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ph.D., Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific or biopharmaceutical field or related discipline with 10 plus years of relevant biopharma industry experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- A combination of industry experience with management consulting and/or investment banking experience will also be considered.
- Deep analytical skills, including the proven ability to structure and prepare financial and market models, identify key inputs and outputs, understand the interrelation between critical components and perform scenario planning
- Experience in strategy development roles, ideally having influence on R&D portfolio-level decisions preferred
- Ability to think proactively and deeply from first principles, enabling innovative problem-solving and strategic decision-making
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to recognize complex situations and use multiple formal and informal methods to find solutions, including the ability to make independent assessments
- Fundamental scientific and business knowledge to evaluate the portfolio and incorporate the results into strategy development
- Strong critical thinking skills, creativity and curiosity to be able to generate new ideas
- Strong collaborative skills - able to work cross-functionally and understand the perspectives of cross functional stakeholders
- Proficiency in storytelling through presentation slides, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a compelling and understandable manner
- Ability to present effectively and debate complex issues with higher-level management.

Director, Strategic Analytics Pay Range: $191,000 to $221,000 annually
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
