Job Description
The Field Applications Specialist, Singapore is responsible for supporting and growing the Cepheid business by assessing and delivering the application of company products to meet customer needs pre and/or post-sales among current and potential customers.
This position is part of the SEA Diagnostics and Cepheid Commercial Team and will be located in Singapore. With a primary emphasis on growing the user base, the Field Applications Specialist will provide in-field assistance, technical direction and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation, maintenance, be able to conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers. The Field Application Specialist will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support and Service to identify and assess customer needs to provide high quality customer support that exceed expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Integrate Cepheid instruments (including installation), assays and connectivity solutions into customer laboratories and provide support to the customer from installation, implementation through verification and/or evaluation to customer go-live (patient reporting).
- Provide demonstration of Cepheid instrumentation, software and reagents to current and potential customers and proactively provide enhancements for development and optimization of Cepheid assays, software and hardware.
- Jointly develop account strategies with Sales Representatives aimed at increasing Cepheid business and retaining current business and lead project specific tasks that make an impact to the wider applications organisation
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues to drive efficiency and engage with multiple stakeholders and conduct education/technical seminars and presentations at customer sites, trade shows and workshops to drive thought leader adoption of Cepheid technology.
- Follow normal standard of work for documentation and customer complaint handling to ensure total customer satisfaction and ensure install and customer management database is updated with full activity traceability.
- Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 2 years of related work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience and experience in molecular/IVD and microbiology techniques.
- Demonstrated excellent project management skills and customer relations/service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and works well both independently and team orientated
- Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook)
- Willingness to travel across SEA region, up to 50%.
- Hands-on experience with lab automation systems and with LIS/connectivity
- Experience with CRM, SAP, SFDC or similar tools
