Job responsibilities
Responsible for driving efficiencies through business process and system improvements while providing systems support for end-users. Develops and supports tools, processes, and best practices under the Business Unit remit in order to streamline and enhance productivity and educates internal team and business users as required. Provides regular updates on progress including timelines, risks, and process changes. Develops and applies expert knowledge of systems, tools, and processes within the Business Unit. Develops working relationships withs IT or other departmental analysts to support knowledge of systems and associated data. Understands the organizations vision and goals to bring solutions to enhance reporting or recommending innovative solutions. Actively participates in special projects and initiatives that require a unique skillset and knowledge of the Business. Maintains oversight for complex reporting for internal and external needs. Identifies areas of improvement in data integrity, speed and automation. Finds opportunities to streamline operations through data flows or workflow tools Provides assistance and leadership on projects which may include training, system enhancements, development, improvement and documentation of processes, testing, and participation and support of validation activities. Partners with business units and leadership to identify, interpret, analyze, clarify, and document business requirements and prepares recommendations based on analysis. Strong knowledge of key systems to respond to reporting needs either on an ad hoc or routine frequency to provide oversight and decision-making information to key leaders. Serves as liaison between the department and the associated IT/Analytics dashboard teams. Assists with solution design for new modules/ functionality and develop solutions independently. Monitors data quality and raises issues and requests for improvements as needed. Works with various technical teams to test and validate changes prior to production roll-out. Communicates changes and trains new and existing users. Serves as the technical SME for Analytics Dashboards within the department providing guidance and feedback to Leadership. Liaises with the internal IT team responsible for Resource, CTMS and Monitoring data to monitor data quality and to support process improvement. Supports changes in the Business that require updates to the data and processing technologies. Maintains various Databases supporting specific guidelines and calculations for metrics. May act as a leader to other team members, setting standards within the team. Works independently but may also lead the work of others on large projects or work efforts. Sets expectations for tasks and follows up to confirm work is completed on time and with quality. Uses effective customer-oriented communication skills to respond to end-users, management, and team promptly and within agreed upon timeframes, utilizing most appropriate method of communication based on urgency and type of information being communicated.
Responds to end-user questions or requests by providing guidance, problem solution, or by contacting appropriate resources. Identifies issues for escalation and routes appropriately (to other team members, internal resources, external resources, etc.). Provides regular status updates on larger projects and initiatives to Management and Leadership teams. Demonstrates proactive approach to time management and task prioritization in order to execute deliverables on time. May have Clinical Development Operations Analysts (of various levels) as direct reports. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).
Qualifications
What we're looking for
BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, CRO or Pharmaceutical experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with strong Excel skills. High utilization of PC-based software packages for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and graphics. Proficiency in Power BI; database development and architecture preferred. Proficiency in Oracle E-Business suite preferred. Experience working with applications with database interoperability (SQL Server and/or Oracle) preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft/PeopleSoft Resource Management is preferred. Able to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines delivering high quality work in a dynamic environment is essential. Flexibility and the ability to work in a matrix environment required. Business analysis experience and a demonstrated ability to assist in gathering business requirements for projects, problems, and issues. Attention to detail with excellent documentation skills and ability to continuously anticipate problems, using poise and effective interpersonal skills, as well as a team-oriented approach.
