Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs testing and troubleshoots assay performance.
- Operates and maintains the laboratory equipment.
- Performs QC and takes appropriate actions if systems deviate from the laboratory’s established specification.
- Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Molecular Genetics Technologist I
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 0-2 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
- Molecular Genetics Technologist II

- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 2-4 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
OR
- Degree: Master’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 0-2 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)

- Molecular Genetics Technologist III

- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 4-6 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
OR
- Degree: Master’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 2-4 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
OR
- Degree: PhD in a scientific discipline or medical technology
- Relevant experience: 0-2 years
- Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
