Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
A PBMC Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting special laboratory procedures for clinical trials
performing high complexity laboratory techniques including, but not limited to routine isolation of peripheral blood
mononuclear cells (PBMC), or other laboratory procedures, etc., ensuring safety measures are followed by
facilitating laboratory operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare, process, and ship laboratory samples to outside laboratories following IATA regulations.
2. Perform PBMC sample processing and cryopreservation
3. Verifies subject by reading subject identification.
4. Maintains specimen integrity by using an aseptic technique, following protocol procedures; observing isolation
procedures.
5. Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of
collections performed as applicable
6. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with
legal regulations.
7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications;
maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
8. Enhances laboratory department by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring
opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
9. Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and laboratory kits and order as needed.
10. Train other laboratory technicians as required.
11. Organize laboratory layout and facilitate laboratory operations.
12. Conduct clinical studies according to FDA regulations and guidelines.
13. Protect the safety and welfare of the study subjects by ensuring that the study is conducted properly and in
compliance with ICH/GCP and Optimal Research Standing Operating Procedures.
14. Knowledgeable of the Sponsor’s protocol so that all study activities are completed correct
15. Any other matters as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience:
- Basic laboratory management
- 1-2 years of PBMC Technique performance
Credentials:
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Meticulous attention to details and deadlines.
- Knowledge of basic use of scientific methods, procedures, and techniques
- Good communication skills are required, both written and verbal

private locations, out of earshot of anyone not employed by DMCR.
- Be polite, upbeat, and professional, on the phone and in person.
