The Regional Sales Manager will report directly to the Area Sales Director and will be a member of the sales leadership team within Phathom's commercial organization. The Regional Sales Manager will be a key contributor to the accomplishments and leadership of Phathom's sales team. The successful candidate will build a sales team responsible for launching the vonoprazan franchise, including H-pylori and GERD launches. The RSM will be responsible for communicating key strategic initiatives and leading the strategic execution within their region. They will work closely with internal partners to hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performing sales team. They will provide strong leadership and direction to maximize business opportunities and work collaboratively with other key functions to address customer needs. The ideal candidate will play a key role in planning and executing growth strategies to enable the continued launch of vonoprazan.

Annual Base Salary: $175,000-205,000

Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach and manage a team of sales representatives
- Attract, train, motivate, and retain an industry-leading sales team
- Effectively coach and lead teams to be successful executing an omni-channel approach in live and virtual settings
- Reward and recognize individual and team accomplishments, inspire team members to achieve peak performance by focusing on maximizing sales goals
- Works strategically with direct reports to analyze and interpret the customer needs
- Assists with the design and creation of functional sales capabilities including training, sales operations, and territory management
- Works collaboratively across the organization to ensure that strategies are being fully communicated to sales team, executed according to plan, and successes are shared
- Develops, aligns, and implements business plans at a regional and territory level
- Fosters innovation and entrepreneurial thinking in sales approaches
- Works collaboratively with Compliance to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of business
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with key large group practices and thought leaders in gastroenterology within assigned geography
- Works collaboratively with Human Resources Business Partner to evaluate, develop, and advance top talent
Requirements:
- Ideally 10 or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry, with 2-3 years of sales management experience preferred
- Bachelors' degree, MBA preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in specialty pharmaceutical sales, including field sales management and product launch experience preferred
- Demonstrated strong competency in inspiring and developing high-performing, ethical, team-oriented sales professionals
- Entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to foster relationships, and the ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
- Demonstrated ability to launch and build market-leading, first-in-category brands
- Proven ability to provide leadership, vision, and direction within a fast moving, challenging and energetic corporate environment
- The ideal candidate will thrive on challenge, be highly collaborative and exhibit strategic agility; and will manifest trust and have high ethics and integrity
- Valid driver's license with clean US driving history
- Ability to travel within region in the states of IN and IL
