Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support license applications, renewals, and updates for cannabis operations in PA and NJ.
• Maintain documentation and internal systems related to state filings, facility records, and operational standards.
• Monitor changes in state regulations and assist in communicating necessary updates to internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of site inspections, audits, and responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate internal reviews of procedures and records to help ensure they align with required protocols.
• Track incidents, document corrective actions, and follow up on issues related to operational integrity.
• Assist with the creation, distribution, and maintenance of SOPs and other regulatory documents.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive business and licensing information.
• Assist with the creation, distribution, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity of sensitive business, personnel, and licensing information.
• Collaborate with department leads across cultivation, production, dispensary, and corporate teams to support consistent adherence to operational standards.
• Conduct walkthroughs of departments and facilities to observe operations, identify potential violations or gaps, and work with local teams to resolve issues in real time.
• Track incidents and follow up to ensure appropriate resolution and documentation.
Effective Communication:
• Clearly communicate issues and regulatory guidance to employees at all levels.
• Manage professional relationships with regulators and inspectors to foster positive interactions and facilitate issue resolution.
• Provide clear and actionable compliance recommendations to internal teams to support operational adherence.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• At least 2-4 years of experience in a compliance role, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and enforcement mechanisms.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations relevant to the industry. Understanding state-specific cannabis laws and regulations.
• Experience in conducting audits, developing SOPs, and managing corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey compliance issues, provide guidance, and interact with regulatory agencies.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple compliance tasks, deadlines, and inspections efficiently.
• Proficiency with compliance management systems, data analysis tools, and standard office software (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets).
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
• Ability to identify compliance issues, analyze potential impacts, and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to collaborate with various teams, including regulatory agencies, internal departments, and external partners.
• Travel Requirements -may be required to attend regulatory inspections, audits, or meetings across NJ & PA.
• Schedule flexibility when business needs exist.
