Job Description

Relay Therapeutics is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Senior or Executive Medical Director to play a pivotal role in precision medicine drug development for breast cancer. Reporting to the VP, PI3K Global Medical Lead, you will provide medical expertise for our breast cancer therapeutic area, driving the late-phase development and registration of RLY-2608, a first-in-class, allosteric pan-mutant selective PI3Kα inhibitor for HR+ HER2- advanced breast cancer.

Your Role

As a key leader in our clinical development team, you will:

  • Lead the clinical strategy and execution of pivotal trials to support the registration of RLY-2608 in second-line HR+ HER2- advanced breast cancer, collaborating cross-functionally with clinical operations, clinical science, biostatistics, regulatory, and medical affairs teams, as well as disease experts and Phase 3 investigators.
  • Provide expert medical review, assessment, and interpretation of clinical data, ensuring clear and impactful presentation to internal leadership and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities.
  • Engage with clinical trial investigators, conducting investigator meetings, site qualification, and initiation visits to ensure trial success.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical trial investigators, and other experts in the field.
  • Contribute to critical regulatory and clinical documents, including Investigator’s Brochures, Clinical Trial Applications (CTAs) for ex-US studies, responses to regulatory authorities, IRBs, and ethics committees, and Clinical Study Reports.
  • Integrate scientific insights from internal and external clinical trials, translational research, and emerging data into Relay Therapeutics' clinical development plans.
  • Ensure compliance and ethical integrity, maintaining the highest standards in clinical trial design, conduct, data interpretation, and communication.

Your Background

We are looking for an experienced clinical leader with:

  • An MD (or equivalent) with oncology expertise, ideally as a practicing oncologist.
  • Late-stage clinical development experience, preferably in advanced breast cancer or other solid tumors.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in clinical development, with a strong preference for experience through registration.
  • A background in developing targeted oncology therapies, particularly in molecularly selected patient populations.
