Position Summary
As a member of the Translational Medicine team, you'll contribute to characterizing our CAR-T cell products' clinical performance. This role involves integrating data, collaborating with various departments, and developing strategies to enhance our CAR-T therapies' effectiveness. By leading projects from inception to full-scale clinical testing and providing mechanistic insights, you'll help shape future clinical strategies and improve patient outcomes. This position is research-focused and includes laboratory and vendor management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
- Lead the characterization of CAR-T cell products' clinical performance by integrating multiple data streams from disparate databases (e.g. clinical, biomarker, -omics datasets, etc.)
- Collaborate with Clinical Biomarkers, Manufacturing Process Development, Pre-Clinical, and Statistical and Data Sciences to identify and evaluate trends in clinical data
- Develop a systems-biology perspective of individual subjects and identifying multivariable networks to model clinical performance across subjects
- Identify, develop, and launch novel and emergent methods, assays, and analytical strategies independently and as the interface between pre-clinical and clinical research teams
- Drive projects from inception through to full-scale clinical testing: complete proof of concept work independently, conduct medium-scale pilot studies with internal research support, assist in the launch of large-scale assays with Clinical Biomarkers and/or help Medical and Regulatory teams in writing and revising clinical trial documents
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- PhD in immunology, cellular biology, oncology, systems biology, or related field, and 5 plus years of experience in translational research and/or in vivo biology (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- A highly proficient experimentalist with demonstrated success in independent and collaborative research projects
- Expertise in immunology and immune/oncology literature and state of the fields is required
- Prior experience in transplant immunology and/or immunogenetics is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge in diverse methodologies and fields of biology is desired.
- Proficiency in standard immunoassay methodologies (high-parameter flow/spectral flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, MSD), human T cell culture, and molecular biology techniques (qPCR, ddPCR, NanoString, NGS, scRNA-Seq, CITE-Seq).
- Experience in planning, executing, and analyzing single cell sequencing projects is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) and high-performance computing systems (e.g. JMP, Prism, FlowJo, FACSDiva OMIQ etc.) is required; experience in programming languages (e.g. R and/or Python, Java) is desired.
