Upstream Manufacturing Scientist – Group Leader

Job Description
The position will be involved with Research Vector Production at a client location, supporting upstream production manufacturing activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Working with up to 250 L-scale aseptic mammalian suspension (HEK293) cell culture in single-use bioreactors.
- Working with small- and large-scale transient transfection, clarification via depth filtration, flat sheet hollow fiber tangential flow filtration.
- Utilize high throughput automated column chromatography (e.g. PromoChrom Technologies SPE-03)
- Perform data trending (e.g. metabolites, viable cell density, flux pressure) using different software
- Perform buffer and tubing assembly preparation
- Laboratory operations (ordering supplies, preparing buffers/mobile phase/culture media, operating laboratory equipment, participation in quality and safety assessments, sample receipt/management, utilize electronic lab notebook, data authoring/review/integrity following good documentation practices)
- Support research scientists with their experiments based on company protocol, method, and procedures
- Assist with maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory
- Follow good laboratory, documentation, and safety practices.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Monitors day-to-day operations of direct reports
- Coordinates scheduling of work/training
- Performs administrative tasks related to team member growth and development
- May be responsible for maintaining multiple projects
Qualifications
Additional Preferred Skill Sets:
- Utilizing electronic lab notebook, data authoring/review/integrity following good documentation practices.
- Experience with Delta V and Unicorn software.
- Experience with Hek293 cell lines, transfection
- Depth Filtration, Flat sheet TFF
- Experience in industry leadership
- Data trending (e.g., metabolites, viable cell density, flux, pressure).
- Buffer and tubing assembly preparation.
- Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and robust problem-solving ability.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Bioreactor Experience, Column Chromatography, Scale-up
