Kim Nguyen, Director, Data Science • Data Science and Delivery, Clario

Kim Nguyen has 15 years of healthcare experience, supported by his Data Science Master’s from UC San Diego. His academic journey included groundbreaking Alzheimer’s imaging research using electron microscopy and collaborating with a dedicated team during his graduate program.

In his current role as Director of Data Science at Clario, Kim is at the forefront of utilizing the latest machine learning techniques. His mission is to create advanced predictive models, harnessing the power of data to provide innovative solutions that drive results for Clario.

 

J Schaerer

Joël Schaerer, PhD, Director, Tech Product Development, Research & Development  Imaging, Clario

Dr. Joël Schaerer earned his PhD in 2008, specializing in cardiac imaging. After completing a post-doc on motion management for radiation therapy, he joined Clario in 2011. At Clario, he’s been working on image-processing software for various medical applications. In 2017, Joël introduced deep learning to the company’s projects and currently leads Clario’s medical image processing group from his base in Switzerland.

Alex Boudreau is a distinguished leader in the field of artificial intelligence with an academic foundation in physics, cognitive sciences and computer science. With over two decades of remarkable experience, he has consistently spearheaded the development of cutting-edge software systems and algorithms. His expertise spans a wide spectrum, from pioneering advancements in medical image analysis software to leading the development of enterprise speech systems, conversational AI and cloud-based fraud detection. Alex Boudreau’s contributions further extend to the realm of intelligent vehicles through the development of state-of-the-art embedded deep learning and generative AI-based solutions. Notably, he has also founded a venture-backed software company that provided machine learning-powered image analysis solutions for the biomedical industry.

Joe Pavone is the Program Lead of Digital Health Technologies Operations at Regeneron, where he manages and supports local and global clinical trial services and study management teams. Joe has 25+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, having had roles as global ePRO project manager and program lead for eCOA operations in numerous premier pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Kelly Dumais is a Scientist with over 13 years of experience in behavioral and life science research. She has expertise in the implementation of electronic clinical outcome assessments (eCOA) and the development and validation of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) to support labeling claims. She is currently the Director of eCOA Science and Consulting at Clario, a global data and technology company that helps to minimize risk in clinical trials. She consults on best practices for questionnaire design and eCOA design/use to drive data integrity and patient engagement and develops custom site rater training and participant training for improving accuracy in COA reporting and improving inter-and intra-rater reliability.

S Gary

Sarah Tressel Gary, PhD, eCOA Senior Science Advisor, Clario

Dr. Sarah Tressel Gary has over five years of experience in clinical trial design and strategy, and more than two years of experience in ePRO and the development and validation of PROs in support of labeling claims. She has significant experience working with PRO development and validation studies, questionnaire design and working with developers of standardized instruments. She is experienced in migration studies including cognitive debriefing and usability testing in several therapeutic areas. Her clinical research experience was focused on hemostasis/thrombosis, platelet biology, oncology, angiogenesis, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. She has extensive in vivo and in vitro lab experience and has conducted preclinical studies in support of trials. To date, Dr. Tressel Gary has co-authored 12 publications and received several honors and awards, including an AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Vic Patel, MD, PhD, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Cardiology, Clario

Dr. Vic Patel, MD, PhD, is board-certified in cardiology with a PhD in Biophysics and has done extensive research on mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias. He was on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for 11 years where he directed molecular arrhythmia research and practiced clinical electrophysiology. Dr. Patel then moved into drug development and cardiac safety as a clinical development leader and therapy area head across all phases. At Clario, Dr. Patel oversees cardiology consulting and ECG/Holter core lab services, while leading the biostatistics and medical writing groups. He works with our global customers to ensure they are satisfied and provided with robust, cost-effective solutions.

A Jagodinsky

Adam Jagodinsky, PhD, Scientific Advisor, Precision Motion, Clario

Dr. Adam Jagodinsky is a Scientific Advisor and Oncology Lead on the precision motion science and consulting team where he works to advance the use of digital health technologies in clinical and academic research.  Dr. Jagodinsky consults with sponsors on implementing wearable sensor solutions in clinical trials and provides comprehensive scientific support surrounding instrumented tests and endpoint selection. Prior to joining Clario, Dr. Jagodinsky earned tenure in the Department of Exercise Science at Illinois State University. He has a background in biomechanics and human movement science, and his research focuses on the mechanics and control of gait and posture as well as leveraging technology for field-based human movement assessment.

Tonya Varcelli, Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs, Cardiovascular Imaging (CVI), Clario

Tonya Varcelli has 20+ years’ experience as a subject matter expert supporting clients to ensure comprehensive delivery of services for clinical trials. In her current role, she provides medical and scientific support to sponsors for study-specific imaging acquisition and tailored assessments, as well as to Cario study teams to identify new tools and services that improve and expand Cardiovascular Imaging services. She was previously an Imaging Research Scientist responsible for research and development of scientific imaging-related documentation for 80+ clinical trials; including Phase II-IV, and pilot studies involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and combination products (biologics). Tonya began her career as a PhD candidate at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a role as a Clinical Trial Manager focusing on imaging components within Phase II-IV trials. She received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University where she also earned her Master of Science and Bachelor of Engineering, Summa Cum Laude.
