JOB SUMMARY:
The Assoc. Director, RWE, will support the HEOR function within the Value & Access department in developing and executing innovative and strategically focused RWE studies to achieve product registration, optimize product reimbursement and access, and differentiate BioCryst products from other therapies. The Assoc. Director will support the Director, RWE in ensuring an enterprise-wide strategy and approach to RWE is realized across the company. He/she/they will provide global RWE support across BioCryst products and cultivate strong internal partnerships with clinical development, regulatory, medical, market access, and commercial teams to enable effective cross-functional collaboration.#LI-REMOTE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execution of RWE studies to inform and support activities for BioCryst’s in-market products and pipeline assets.
- Support RWE studies to ensure quality and timely execution of research to characterize disease burden, unmet need, treatment patterns, and treatment outcomes, etc. (e.g., effectiveness, safety, utilization, costs).
- Design, conduct, and deliver RWE studies (prospective and retrospective) to support the value of BioCryst’s products.
- Manage vendors to ensure high quality RWE protocols, analysis plans, and study results and timely project execution.
- Identify and interpret meaningful insights from RWE analyses and support answering study-related questions from cross-functional colleagues and leadership.
- Collaborate with Publications and other functions in the development of RWE-specific conference abstracts, presentation of RWE at congresses, and development and submission of RWE to peer-review journal.
- Support proactive engagement with patients, providers, and payers with RWE to facilitate product adoption, reimbursement, access, and differentiation.
- Utilize strong oral communications skills and understanding of BioCryst strategies to promote and translate RWE to end-use applications (e.g., unbranded, HCEI, and CFL materials) across the company.
- Contribute to above-brand RWE research collaborations with providers, health systems (e.g., IDNs), and payers.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD, ScD, PharmD) in related discipline with a minimum of four (4) years of experience; or a Master s degree (e.g., MSc, MPH) with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant, post-graduation experience.
- Experience with the design and conduct of RWE research, including development of protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports.
- Strong experience and knowledge of applying epidemiological and statistical methods to RWE research.
- Deep understanding of RWD/RWE or related disciplines (e.g., health outcomes, outcomes research) to generate scientifically rigorous and robust research.
- Demonstrated track record of executing research projects using real world data from claims, electronic health records, registries, biobanks, and/or digital applications.
- Proven ability to interpret, discuss, effectively represent, and communicate RWD/RWE to internal and external audiences.
- Experience in the life science consulting or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness with an ability to respond and influence effectively across multiple internal and external customers.
- Proactive and effective problem-solving and prioritization skills when faced with obstacles/challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication Highly effective at providing input at meetings, discussions and activities covering all aspects of research, including data management and analysis.
- Action oriented - excellent organization, interpersonal and influencing skills, ensuring delivery to target and expectations.
- Foster the development and delivery of good standards/best practices and educational resources for RWE.
