Job Description

  • Isolation of human primary cell subtypes from normal or diseases human sources, including blood or tissues (peripheral blood mononuclear cells, T cell subpopulations, myeloid cells, B cells, etc)
  •  Perform flow cytometry analysis phenotypic and functional analyses to investigate the clinical candidate molecules’ binding properties, induced phenotype changes, and biological responses in different cell subsets
  •  Develop new methods and technologies for implementation and project advancement under minimal supervision
  •  Collect, analyze, and reports results to supervisor under minimal supervision
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental data and protocols
  • Work with the Director/Associate Director to prepare data summary and data reports
  • Assist lab members by performing research laboratory work following established protocols
  • Maintain instrument and lab equipment
  • Maintain inventory and help with ordering stock laboratory supplies and reagents
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Scientist II, Translational Biomarker Group

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline with a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience

OR

  • Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience

Associate Scientist I, Translational Biomarker Group

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience

OR

  • Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  General mammalian tissue culture
  •  Proven working knowledge of basic cell biology and molecular techniques including ELISA assays
  •  Proficiency in basic immunology techniques and flow cytometry
  •  Ability to work independently, be able to problem solve and know when to ask for assistance
  •  Ability to multitask
  •  Ability to communicate results effectively both written and orally
  • Proven capability in data analysis, use of analytical toos (e.g., spreadsheets, ststistical software) and data presentation
  •  Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other members of a team
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with basic data analysis programs (Microsoft Office, Graphpad Prism, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Preferred Qualification:

  • Basic knowledge of mass cytometry and spectral cytometry is preferred.
