The HitS DEL Biology site, a WuXi AppTec Company in US, is expanding its team to establish the Biophysical platform within the field of early drug discovery. We are seeking a highly motivated Biophysics Intern to join our team to support the screening & assay capabilities for various projects.

This internship position is located at Natick, MA.

Responsibilities

Work independently & as part of a team within the assigned core- tasks to:

• Support the biophysics platform for providing high-quality screening services.
• Follow established SOPs/workflows for biophysical characterization of binding events using SPR.
• QC assays using nanoDSF for protein analysis and preparation of screening plates.
• Data analysis, documentation, & presenting progress to internal team members.
• Additionally, have an open mind to assist in tasks outside the core objectives (if time/load permits).

Qualifications

Experience / Education

• MSc or BSc (with experience preferred) in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biophysics or a related field.
• Must be in good academic standing and at the end of their degree or in a senior year.
• Preferred candidates must demonstrate understanding of scientific procedures in protein biochemistry and basic biophysical techniques in drug discovery, highly motivated to get hands-on experience on SPR and related technologies during the internship.
• Previous experience, or lab-based courses, projects or thesis related to the required experience, in combination with strong candidate background will also be taken into consideration.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Proficient in oral & written communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) & in the use of general IT systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving & organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and a team player in a multi-cultural environment.
