The technology is currently being used for research applications in several therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, cardiology, inflammation and infectious disease.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Laboratory Assistant located in Billerica, MA. The Laboratory Assistant role is integral to the functioning of the Accelerator Laboratory. Successful candidates will have the following responsibilities: accessioning/sample receipt, equipment maintenance, reagent/supply inventory or other tasks for Acceleratory Laboratory.  The Laboratory Assistant team reports to the Manager of Lab Operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for daily receipt and accessioning of biological samples from customers and entering critical data into LIMS for Accelerator sample testing.
  • Daily processing of internally and externally ordered materials.
  • Laboratory stocking of reagents, labware, and equipment maintenance for routine lab usage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Daily support of start/end of day activities associated with maintaining analytical equipment for sample testing.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining laboratory inventory levels of critical material in lab, cold rooms and freezers.
  • Follow instructions as defined in Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Team.
  • Maintain attention to detail for quality completion of each task.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’ll Expect From You: 

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (General Education Degree), Associates Degree preferred
  • 1+ years of work experience in a job in the logistics, science, technology field, or another regulated industry
  • Computer proficiency and data entry skills required, familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Experience with handling and communicating important information, particularly scientific or technical information
  • Closely follow verbal and written instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Experience working within a CLIA or CAP-Certified laboratory or CRO preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently but understands when escalation is necessary
  • Have strong attention to detail as well as organizational and multitasking skills
  • Effective clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work most of day in a BL2 laboratory environment, in the presence of chemicals and reagents
  • Understanding of client confidentiality and the importance of data security
