Dunkin Donuts to Introduce New Modern Concept Store Design

Dunkin Donuts to Introduce New Modern Concept Store Design

Dunkin Donuts had a nostalgic opening of their first newly-designed, next-generation concept store in Quincey, Mass. – the location where they introduced their first restaurant over 68 years ago. The restaurant features an open concept design that uses natural light and a modern designed serving space.

“The launch of our next generation concept store marks one of the most important moments in Dunkin’ Donuts’ growth as an on-the-go, beverage-led brand,” said David Hoffmann, president of Dunkin’ Donuts US and Canada. “We have worked closely with our franchisee community to create a positive, energetic atmosphere for our guests that remains true to our heritage, while emphasizing and enhancing the unparalleled convenience, digital innovation and restaurant excellence that distinguishes Dunkin’. We are thrilled to begin the new year with such an exciting milestone for our brand, and look forward to rolling out Dunkin’ Donuts’ store of the future to our guests in all of our communities.”

The 2,200 square-foot restaurant uses monochromatic, light toned colors for their furniture and walls. The company plans on introducing over 30 more newly designed stores this year. However, the launch of this new design is for testing purposes. From consumer responses, Dunkin Donuts will design the final blueprint for their new stores. The test store is also the first to have their new name, Dunkin, as their restaurant sign – a rebranding initiative that was announced last August.

This new store also feature new serving methods for their cold beverages. Items such as coffees, iced teas, cold brew coffee and nitro infused cold coffee are now poured through wooden handled taps. The restaurant’s kitchen now has espresso machines so that espressos are hand – crafted for each order. They also have single serve machines that can grind and brew fresh coffee beans as per order .

The new concept stores also include a custom “Grab & Go” section for those who are in a hurry. The section has a variety of bottled beverages and snacks that also include healthy food options like salads and fruits.

Their new design also has an exclusive “On-the-Go” drive-through for those who have downloaded the Dunkin Donuts app and placed an order on their phones. These customers do not have to wait in the ordering lane and can go straight to pickup, making their experience more convenient.

Dine-in customers can view the status of their orders by checking the digital orders screen and have the option to use digital kiosks for placing their orders.

The store is environmentally friendly as well, labeled as a DD Green Achievement restaurant that uses 25 percent less energy than other Dunkin Donuts locations.
