Digital Pathology: Artificial Intelligence Models in Gastrointestinal Diseases

Life Sciences, Clinical Trials, Preclinical,
  • Wednesday, May 03, 2023

As digital pathology becomes routinely available in anatomic pathology, artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies have the potential to enhance diagnostic accuracy and speed, histologic feature recognition and various forms of quantitative image analysis of human diseases.

This webinar will discuss how to develop AI models — using a cloud-based deep learning platform, Aiforia, — that identify and quantify various histologic features in neoplastic, inflammatory and metabolic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver.

Join this webinar on digital pathology to learn how non-AI specialists can develop clinically useful AI-based image analysis models.

Speakers

Dr. Roger K. Moreira, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN

Dr. Roger K. Moreira, MD, Consultant, Assistant Professor, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN

Dr. Roger Moreira received his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.  He did his pathology residency at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, and his gastrointestinal pathology fellowship at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN.  He was a staff pathologist at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY from 2009-2012 and has been a gastrointestinal pathologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for the last 10 years. Dr. Moreira has been involved with developing various AI models of gastrointestinal diseases in partnership with Aiforia since 2020.
