Dole has introduced a new functional line of juices and fruit bowls that move towards their promise of eliminating added sugars from all of their products by 2025.
The Dole Promise includes giving one billion people access to their food, moving towards zero fruit loss and zero fossil-based plastics use by 2025, along with achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
To address the goal of removing added sugars from its fruit juices and fruit cups, Dole Packaged Foods has announced the launch of two new products, Dole Fruitify and Dole Essentials.
“We understand that today’s consumer seeks products that are not only good for their health and fit their lifestyle, but also minimize environmental impact,” said Orzse Hodi, vice president of marketing, Americas, in a press release. “We are committed to developing innovations that are better for people and the planet. Dole Fruitify juice drinks and the Dole Essentials line of Dole Fruit Bowls deliver on both fronts, with simple, clean ingredients and responsible sourcing and packaging methods.”

Dole Frutify is the first tropical fruit that the company has introduced, which focuses on providing consumers with nutritional benefits from ingredients such as green tea and turmeric. More importantly, the juice contains no added sugars and does not have high-fructose corn syrup. The functional beverage is also non-GMO, kosher and a great source of vitamin C.
The Dole Fruitify line provides consumers with three different flavors to choose from. First, Dole Fruitify Glow is made with pineapple, mango juice and turmeric. Second, Dole Fruitify Replenish is made with pineapple juice and coconut water. The third is Dole Fruitify Energize, made with pineapple juice and green tea extract.
Moreover, Dole’s new fruit bowls are a functional snack option for consumers. Here, the company is catering to a trend in the market but with an adult’s palate in mind. The bowls have vitamin C, are gluten-free, non-GMO and have no added sugar.
The three flavors include Pineapple with Cucumber & Mint Natural Flavors, Mandarin Oranges with Turmeric and Mixed Fruit with Green Tea Extract.
In the brand’s attempt towards moving to a zero-waste goal, the company partnered with Ananas Anam to turn pineapple plant leaves into natural textiles used for sustainable design.
A statement mentions, “Dole is not only taking another step toward its Promise of zero fruit loss by 2025 but is also contributing to a world where sustainable material alternatives are becoming increasingly important as global lifestyle brands look for these alternatives for their products.”
The innovation in recycling pineapple leaves works towards creating a more circular economy. The company is committed to eliminating added sugar and plastics; therefore, introducing their new functional food line and pineapple leaves in their packaging is definitely a step towards accomplishing their goals.
