• Protein purification (mAbs, therapeutic & reagent proteins) by various chromatography methods
• Use and troubleshoot the AKTA suite of FPLC instruments, Unicorn software, Tecan liquid handler
• Analytical characterization of proteins by SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and analytical SEC
• Perform high-throughput sample testing in an organized and timely manner
• Quantitate proteins by UV and BCA assay
• Dialyze and concentrate proteins using standard methods
• Sterile filtration and vialing
• Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, prepare precise technical report summaries, analysis and maintain appropriate documentation
• Basic Laboratory management, multitasking, and experimental troubleshooting

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific discipline with emphasis in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related disciplines with 1-3 years of hands on experience
• Training and experience with protein purification techniques and instrumentation (AKTA Unicorn suite, Tecan liquid handler, HPLC)
• Working knowledge of and/or skills in protein characterization (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, SEC, protein quantitation, buffer preparation)
• Ability to perform basic dilution and stoichiometric calculations
• Ability to think critically and relate assay results to biophysical/biochemical protein properties
• Ability to work independently with ambiguity and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Attention to detail and good oral and written communication skills required

• Work environment: the person filling this position will work predominantly in a laboratory setting.   There may be exposure to hazardous chemicals.
