Job Description

We are looking for an experienced leader with strong interpersonal and influencing skills to lead our US Statistical Sciences team. The role is a permanent position located in US. The Head of Biostatistics will lead and develop the team as well as providing mentoring, support and professional development to individual members of the team. In addition, the Head of Biostatistics will provide statistical, scientific and strategic support to the clinical and regulatory strategies in the projects throughout drug development, post-marketing and life-cycle management.

Preference will be given to candidates who live on the east coast of the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and management of the individual team member as well as the Biostatistics team
  • Provide leadership in balancing conflicting priorities and mentorship in aligning employees to follow the company’s strategic objectives
  • Provide statistical and strategic expertise to in-licensing opportunities and in the review of clinical documents
  • Drive the optimal use of statistical methods and strategy in the company, including the design and delivery of clinical development plans and studies
  • Contribute to budget estimation and efficient allocation and use of statistical resources
  • Support clinical projects with statistical skills and expertise

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Mathematical statistics, Statistics or equivalent
  • 10 + years of experience working as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry, and/or a CRO
  • 3 + years of experience in line management and/or another leadership role
  • Experience working in phase III development
  • Experience of regulatory interactions and/or major submissions
  • Experience in rare disease or immunology preferred

Additional Information

The base salary pay range for this role is $214,000-$280,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
