Position Summary

Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative orthopedic team. This role offers a mix of outpatient and inpatient care, including patient evaluations, pre- and post-operative management, and First Assist in the operating room (training provided if needed). You'll work closely with experienced physicians in a supportive environment that values teamwork, professional growth, and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
• NCCPA certification (for PAs) or VT Board of Nursing licensure (for NPs)
• Vermont state license
• DEA registration

Experience

• 3-5 years of direct patient care experience required
• 1-2 years in an orthopedic setting preferred
• First Assist experience preferred (training available)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct history and physical exams
• Provide pre- and post-operative care
• Diagnose and prescribe treatment
• Develop and manage care plans in collaboration with physicians
• Utilize ancillary services as appropriate
• Serve as First Assist in the operating room

Additional Role Details

• Participation in shared on-call rotation (Call responsibility one weekend every four months)
