Job Description

Relay Therapeutics is seeking a patient-focused Medical Director to drive early clinical development in adult and pediatric rare diseases using our proprietary Dynamo™ protein-motion platform. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Clinical Development, you will lead clinical strategy from IND to proof-of-concept to approval, advancing multiple assets across rare disease therapeutic areas.

Your Role

  • Lead clinical strategy and execution to rapidly establish proof-of-concept and accelerate development
  • Develop regulatory-aligned clinical plans, identifying opportunities for breakthrough designation and accelerated approval
  • Author and review key clinical documents (INDs, CTAs, regulatory responses) and oversee safety and pharmacovigilance.
  • Integrate new scientific insights into development plans to optimize trial design and outcomes
  • Build strong external collaborations with investigators, academic experts, and regulatory agencies

Your Background

  • MD or MD/PhD with expertise in rare diseases (pediatric experience preferred)
  • 1+ year of industry experience in early clinical development (small biotech experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to design and execute innovative clinical trials and interpret complex data
  • Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills
  • Passion for delivering life-changing therapies to patients
