We are seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support critical research, development, and pilot manufacturing activities within our Process & Product Design organization. These positions will provide hands-on technical support for process lens build studies, dimensional and metrology measurements, and pilot line operations. The technicians will work closely with engineers, scientists, and pilot manufacturing personnel to support development activities that contribute to new product and process innovation.

- R&D Laboratory Technician
Description:
We are seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support critical research, development, and pilot manufacturing activities within our Process & Product Design organization. These positions will provide hands-on technical support for process lens build studies, dimensional and metrology measurements, and pilot line operations. The technicians will work closely with engineers, scientists, and pilot manufacturing personnel to support development activities that contribute to new product and process innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development Support
- Assist engineers with lens build process studies, parts assembly, and experimental activities.
- Prepare materials, equipment, and components for development studies and builds.
- Execute established procedures and accurately document build batch records.
- Collect, organize, and enter experimental data into electronic systems in conformance to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Measurement & Metrology Support
- Support measurement and inspection activities in mold metrology lab
- Perform dimensional measurements of molds, components, and finished parts using established methods and equipment.
- Record measurement results and verify data accuracy.
- Maintain measurement equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Pilot Operations Support
- Assist with equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance (operational checks).
- Support pilot builds, changeovers, material handling, and sample management.
- Follow all applicable safety, PPE, quality, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, pilot plant, or engineering environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to accurately collect, record, and communicate technical data.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on technical work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work safely within laboratory and pilot manufacturing environments.
