We are seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Regional Environmental Manager to champion environmental excellence across three dynamic chemical manufacturing facilities in the Northeast. Based in Rochester, NY, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape regional strategy while staying hands-on through regular site collaboration and travel.

As the Regional Environmental Manager, you will be the driving force behind environmental compliance, sustainability, and performance improvement. In this influential position, you'll partner with site leaders, solve complex challenges, and lead initiatives that protect our communities, enhance operational efficiency, and advance our long-term environmental goals.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead, mentor, and empower plant supervisors and employees to uphold the highest standards of environmental compliance across all operations.
  • Own the preparation and submission of critical environmental reports, including SARA, RCRA, EPCRA, RMP, CBS, PBS, and Air Emissions, ensuring precision and full regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, negotiating permits and maintaining all required wastewater and air emissions authorizations.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve robust Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Management programs tailored to each facility.
  • Strengthen emergency readiness by supporting planning, training, and compliance for all environmental emergency response activities.
  • Oversee Groundwater Remediation Programs, including system operations, maintenance, and all associated regulatory reporting.
  • Deliver impactful regulatory training, including RCRA and other required programs, to elevate environmental awareness and performance across the sites.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of5-7 years of experience in environmental compliance within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of EPA, DEC, and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Experience with air, water, and waste permitting and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Responsible Care®, ISO 14001, or similar environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 30%.
  • Professional certifications such as CHMM, QEP, or PE. (highly preferred)
  • Experience with groundwater remediation systems and environmental data management tools. (highly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in multi-site environmental program management (highly preferred)

The expected salary range for this role is $116,000 - $136,000 USD annually but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.

This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.

This role is also eligible to earn a bonus and benefits as defined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
