The plant-based movement is really happening now, in front of our very eyes, everywhere in the world. We wanted to be part of it and create a protein that was going to be better than anything before; a true “perfect protein” from the Nordics. There was a clear problem with most of the “fake meat” products out there: they are very processed — even unhealthy — often carrying a long ingredient list with strange, alien components, saturated fat and e-codes. In order to change the world, our protein would have to be healthy and nutritionally perfect, sustainable, easy to prepare and —most importantly — mouth-wateringly delicious.
We faced many challenges with formulating tasty, healthy and environmentally-conscious food products, but finally succeeded by creating and patenting Pulled Oats®. It’s produced by mechanically heating and shearing the ingredients without any additives or chemicals in the process.
Oats are a great alternative to, for example, soy. They contain lots of beta glucan fibers, which are good for your digestion and your heart, and oats are rich in iron. Because Pulled Oats® is
not only made of oats, but is a unique tailored composition of oats, faba beans and yellow peas, it is a high-quality protein.
In this webinar, attendees will learn about a novel meat alternative based on the superfood Nordic oats. Topics of discussion will include the various benefits of oats, the process behind developing the Gold&Green flagship product Pulled Oats®, the importance of innovation and design in food manufacturing and applications of this product in different diets.
