Job Description

The Associate Director of Corporate Communications will report to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and play a critical role in supporting development of communication strategies that enhance Vir's reputation, engage stakeholders, and support business objectives. We are looking for a versatile strategic thinker with strong media relations, and storytelling skills, and ability to push projects through to completion. You excel in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.

This role is located in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of 4 days per week in office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Execute strategic communication plans that drive our business objectives across a range of channels both externally and internally.
  • Partner with colleagues across the company to identify stories that can help increase stakeholder understanding of Vir and our mission.
  • Prepare media materials and liaise with traditional and digital media audiences to drive coverage and understanding of Vir updates.
  • Manage social content strategy and development across our social media channels, including LinkedIn and X.
  • Oversee our website to ensure it supports the strategic objectives of the company and helps communicate Vir's core narrative.
  • Partner with HR, IT and other cross-functional internal teams to develop content for our intranet and support ongoing employee engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, public perception, and media coverage to proactively manage our reputation.

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING

  • 8+ years of communications or PR experience, including at least one role at a biotech or pharmaceutical company or agency supporting biopharma clients.
  • Experience crafting and implementing successful corporate branding and social media plans
  • Strong content creation and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with website development tools and activities to improve user web experience.
  • Comfort working with scientific concepts and content.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER

The expected salary range for this position is $155,500.00 to $227,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

Vir's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person's experience and qualifications. All full-time employees receive a package that includes: compensation, bonus and equity as well as many other Vir benefits and perks such as: health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance benefits, non-accrual paid time off, company shut down for holidays, commuter benefits, child care reimbursement, education reimbursement, 401K match and lunch each day in the office.
