Position: Associate Director Corporate Communications

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Associate Director, Corporate Communications to lead integrated internal and external communications that strengthen corporate reputation, support business priorities, and advance our scientific mission. This role develops and executes enterprise communications strategies across corporate storytelling, media relations, executive visibility, employee engagement, and key business initiatives within a highly regulated healthcare environment. The Associate Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex scientific and business information into clear, compliant messaging for diverse stakeholders and partnering cross-functionally to ensure communications align with organizational objectives and values.

While this role is currently scoped at the Associate Director level, candidates with broader strategic leadership experience and deep communications expertise may be considered for a Director title.

This role is based in Parsippany, New Jersey and requires in-person attendance at the corporate headquarters during designated in-office days.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate & Strategic Communications
  • Develop and execute integrated corporate communications strategies aligned with company priorities, pipeline milestones, and brand positioning.
  • Support corporate reputation initiatives and strategic messaging across internal and external audiences.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop presentations, talking points, speeches, and leadership communications.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all communication channels.

Media Relations & External Communications
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, and business media.
  • Draft and manage press releases related to clinical milestones, regulatory updates, partnerships, scientific data, corporate announcements, and company initiatives.
  • Support proactive media outreach and rapid response communications.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and reputational risks.

Scientific & Stakeholder Communications
  • Translate complex scientific, clinical, and corporate information into accessible and engaging communications materials.
  • Support communications for clinical data presentations, medical congresses, pipeline updates, and product-related milestones.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Investor Relations, and Commercial teams to ensure compliant and aligned messaging.
  • Assist in developing messaging for investors, healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders.

Internal Communications
  • Develop employee communications that support company culture, organizational alignment, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Lead internal announcements, leadership messaging, town halls, and employee engagement communications.
  • Support change management and organizational communications efforts.

Crisis & Issues Management
  • Support crisis communications planning and issues management activities.
  • Help identify reputational risks and provide strategic communications counsel in sensitive situations.
  • Assist in preparing communication materials and response strategies for high-priority issues.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Health, Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, healthcare communications, or related field, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Proven experience supporting corporate reputation, executive communications, media relations, and internal communications initiatives.
  • Experience translating complex scientific and clinical information into clear, compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of communications within a regulated healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, HR, Commercial, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, collaboration platforms, media monitoring tools, and digital communication channels.
  • Ability to independently develop high quality, polished PowerPoint presentations with structured flow
  • Experience supporting commercial biotechnology/pharmaceutical organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and healthcare industry communication standards.
  • Experience supporting clinical milestone, regulatory, and investor communications.
  • Knowledge of scientific communications and healthcare media best practices.

Work Location:
  • This role is based in Parsippany, New Jersey and requires regular onsite presence at the corporate headquarters on designated in-office days.

Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% as needed for business meetings, industry conferences, and company events.
