Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who has a passion for scientific research. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team, work on transformative science, and take part in building an exciting, science-driven company.

The role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Bioinformatics Data Scientist to help expand, scale and optimize our single cell transcriptomics and multiomics workflows. In this role, you will collaborate with a small team of experimental and computational R&D scientists and play a key part in expanding our pipeline capabilities towards biomarker discovery, characterization of leading cell therapy product candidates, as well as fuel novel product development. The finalist's job title and leveling will be dependent on experience.

Responsibilities include:
  • Implement and optimize bioinformatics workflows for efficient and accurate single cell RNA sequencing data analysis
  • Collaborate and communicate extensively with multidisciplinary teams within and across departments to conceptualize, execute and analyze experiments in support of internal studies and external collaborations
  • Integrate novel cutting-edge tools and analytical approaches into existing pipelines
  • Contribute to infrastructure and workflow improvements
  • Build and maintain platforms for data visualization
  • Maintain detailed records up to industry standards for reproducible computing (data, code, and environments)
  • Prepare results for internal meetings, grant and patent applications, scientific publications, and regulatory filings

Required Qualifications:
  • PhD degree (or MS + 3 years of experience working in biotech or life sciences) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computational Biology, Data Science, Genetics or related field
  • Demonstrated track record, including research publications, working with NGS pipelines
  • Strong understanding and extensive experience with single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis principles, from alignment, assembly, reference mapping, to annotation and visualization
  • Solid foundation in molecular biology and hands-on experience with Illumina sequencing
  • Proficiency in R, Python or similar language, and ability to implement open-source packages
  • Experience with large-scale multiomic data processing, storage, and visualization strategies
  • Competency to read and incorporate newly published approaches for analysis
  • Willingness to expand skill set and contribute to emerging needs in a highly dynamic start-up environment
  • High integrity, great organization and ability to multitask while working within fast-paced timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with a problem-solver mindset
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership over problems and take initiative to improve work processes, develop innovative scientific methodologies and approaches to enhance research productivity

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with single cell ATACseq and spatial transcriptomics
  • General multiomics expertise: genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, chromatin dynamics
  • Experience building intuitive web tools for bioinformatics analysis
  • Foundational knowledge of neuroscience, stem cell biology, and developmental biology
  • Familiarity with in vitro directed differentiation paradigms from pluripotent stem cells (especially along the neuronal lineage), and molecular characterization of derived cell types
  • 1+ years of wet lab experience is a plus
