Student Engagement is recruiting a detail oriented and fiscally proficient Business Manager to join our team. The Business Manager II will provide senior level accounting and budget management support.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Manager II provides comprehensive financial and business operations support to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and Student Activity Fee (SAF) funded programs. This position serves as a key financial resource for student leaders and faculty & staff advisors, by ensuring fiscal compliance with University, Board of Regents (BOR), and State financial policies and procedures. The role oversees financial transactions, budget monitoring, financial reporting, student leader training, fiscal compliance and administrative support at a high level related to activity fee funding operations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management & Business Operations

• Review, audit, reconcile, and process financial transactions for student organizations.

• Audit and approve student organization spending requests through the Panther Involvement Network (PIN).

• Maintain shadow budgets and monitor account balances to ensure accurate tracking of allocations and expenditures.

• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve budget issues.

• Process journal entries, contracts, travel reimbursements, and other financial transactions.

Advising, Training & Compliance

• Provide guidance to student organizations, faculty advisors, and staff regarding Student Activity Fee (SAF), State and Board of Regents financial policies.

• Conduct orientation and training sessions for new and existing student organizations to ensure compliance with financial requirements.

Student Organization Funding Administration

• Manage the student organization appeal process, including reallocations, appeals, and special funding requests.

• Establish and maintain organization accounts within the Panther Involvement Network (PIN).

• Verify account balances and ensure accuracy between PIN records and financial reports.

• Prepare and distribute financial reports and budget information for the Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC).

Human Resources & Payroll Support

• Process employee personnel transactions related to student employees.

• Assist with hiring, termination, position management, supervisor updates, and time reporting changes.

• Monitor payroll expenses and process prior period adjustments as needed.

• Experience working in higher education, student affairs, or student organization administration.

• Knowledge of Board of Regents policies and university financial processes.

• Experience with financial reporting, budget management, PantherMart, Spectrum, OneUSG, or similar enterprise systems.

• Experience providing training and advising diverse groups.

• Knowledge of business and financial management practices.

• Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.

• Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Experience working in higher education, student affairs, or student organization administration.

• Experience with financial reporting, budget management, PantherMart, Spectrum, OneUSG, or similar enterprise systems.
