Job Description
The Classes Instructor is responsible for conducting week-long, topic specific, grade blocked (K-9th), STEAM classes. The instructor delivers and modifies hands-on curriculum ensuring students are safely supervised and engaged. This position also communicates within the Classes team and to families while following written procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Delivers engaging week-long STEAM curriculum for students in grades K-8;
- Supervises students to ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment for up to 25 students;
- Communicates effectively with students, caregivers, co-workers, and supervisors about programming expectations and procedures;
- Communicates with community organizations and other outside contacts;
- Prepares and organizes classroom to facilitate an effective learning environment;
- Actively integrates diversity, equity, access, and inclusion through a racial equity lens across their work.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
Secondary responsibilities include-but are not limited to-the following:
- Provide first aid care to participants and staff when necessary;
- Provide classroom and peer support.
- Communicates with community organizations and other outside contacts.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Comfortable leading groups of students;
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with an emphasis on effectively interacting with and engaging diverse audiences;
- Demonstrated ability to pivot between individual and team work;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products;
- Exercises sound judgment while upholding high integrity and ethical standards;
- Ability to learn current equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice theories and practical applications, including critical theories of systemic oppression, unconscious bias, and personal identity and intersectionality matters;
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills that adhere to confidentiality, protocol, and community agreements.
Education & Work Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum one year prior classroom, enrichment, or youth engagement experience;
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with stringent and overlapping time constraints;
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and talents in a professional work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background checks and reference checks;
- Current CPR and First-Aid Certification.
