Position Overview


Fusion Innovation is seeking a Communications Officer to support enterprise-wide communications initiatives on behalf of a major U.S. Government cloud program. Working as part of a collaborative communications team, this individual will help develop and deliver strategic messaging that promotes program awareness, workforce engagement, and organizational visibility across a diverse stakeholder community.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating complex technical and programmatic information into clear, compelling communications tailored to a variety of audiences. This position requires strong writing, editing, and communications planning skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, technical teams, and organizational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications strategies that support the goals and objectives of the client's cloud program.
  • Create, edit, and distribute a variety of communications products, including articles, newsletters, announcements, executive messaging, presentations, briefing materials, and internal communications campaigns.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and subject matter experts to translate technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
  • Support workforce communications efforts designed to increase awareness, understanding, and adoption of cloud-related initiatives and services.
  • Coordinate messaging across multiple communication channels to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Assist with planning and executing communications campaigns, events, and engagement activities that enhance program visibility and impact.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and stakeholder engagement, recommending improvements to messaging strategies and delivery methods.
  • Ensure communications products adhere to organizational standards, branding requirements, and security guidelines.
  • Partner with other communications professionals to support broader organizational outreach and engagement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communications initiatives within a U.S. Government environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality written communications products for diverse audiences.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting internal workforce communications, organizational messaging, or employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting cloud, technology, digital transformation, or enterprise IT programs.
  • Familiarity with communications planning, change management, or workforce engagement strategies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale organizational communications efforts.
  • Knowledge of content management systems, digital communications platforms, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Federal Government customers.
