Position Description
The Contract Administrator supports Applied Medical's operations by managing the full contract lifecycle, from proposal through execution and ongoing administration. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient, compliant, and accurate handling of distribution agreements, product supply contracts, and pricing agreements across the medical device industry. The Contract Administrator collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, sales, and operations, to facilitate contract negotiations, maintain contract data integrity, and drive timely execution. This position contributes directly to operational efficiency, revenue enablement, and customer satisfaction by ensuring contracts are processed accurately and efficiently within contract management systems and enterprise platforms such as SAP.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, revising, and executing distribution agreements, product supply agreements, and pricing contracts
- Review and redline terms and conditions using company templates and customer agreements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives
- Collaborate with legal counsel and cross-functional teams to assess legal language, mitigate risk, and support contract negotiations
- Coordinate with customers and internal team members to facilitate timely contract execution and maintain momentum throughout the contracting process
- Administer contract workflows and maintain contract data using a contract management system (CMS) or contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and SAP
- Track contract milestones, renewals, expiration dates, and key deliverables to ensure continuity and compliance
- Support Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) processes by developing responses and tracking contract-related trends
- Maintain contract reporting tools, status trackers, and dashboards to provide visibility into contract progress and performance

- Drive process efficiency and continuous improvement in contract administration, documentation, and workflow management
- Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with legal standards across all contract documentation
- Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and customer relationships
- Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve contract language, policies, and procedures
- Maintain organized, reliable contract records that support audits, reporting, and operational decision-making
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with strong academic credentials
- Demonstrate one to two years of full-time experience in a contract administrator, contract specialist, or related role
- Exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management capabilities
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Word for document comparison, track changes, and formatting
- Apply experience with a contract management system (CMS) or contract lifecycle management (CLM) system
- Demonstrate knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions with strong drafting, reviewing, editing, and interpretation skills
- Interpret contract provisions and summarize key terms for internal stakeholders
- Communicate effectively with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate contract risks and requirements
- Manage multiple priorities and coordinate projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate a reliable, proactive work ethic
- Show initiative to learn, improve processes, and develop creative solutions
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Demonstrate paralegal experience or legal support background
- Utilize Adobe Acrobat for document preparation, editing, and contract formatting
- Apply experience with SAP Ariba or similar procurement and sourcing platforms
- Demonstrate familiarity with the medical device industry or healthcare contracting, including Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)
- Apply knowledge of contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, addendums, and notice letters
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as process enhancements and policy development
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members and contribute to departmental documentation and procedures
